I’ve just been drawing two flowers from an orchid and am delighted with the accuracy and relative neatness of my line drawing.

Wish I could say the same for painting up of this specimen – as it has far too much neutral tint and not enough white paper, it tends to look a little bit muddy in places and that’s after the third attempt.

Thank goodness I traced the line drawing on to tracing paper before doing anything else otherewise it would have taken hours and hours to get nowhere fast.
